Stamperia Lilac box

A picture step by step decorated box.

Firstly remove hinges and closure and give box a light wash of white. As you can see I painted first then remembered to remove fittings, whoops!!

Cut to size patterned paper, I used some from a Stamperia Lilac pad.

Emboss some snip art chipboard pieces, I used Luscious powders mixed with clear embossing powder.

Edge each piece of pattern paper with a soft lilac ink. ( I decided to add lilac paint sponged around the edges later, so this step can be left out if you decide to do the same)

Glue on all pieces of patterned paper.

Glue on the snip art around a topper from the same lilac paper pad

Add a lilac pink applique to the top right corner

Re attach hinges and fastener

Embellish with a mix of mulberry flowers, foam flowers,  silk leaves,

die cut leaves, flourishes,

and lilac gem stones.

Voila!!

Stamperia unicorn mixed media canvas

Hello my creative friends, I have been watching some videos on Stamperia You tube channel, where they apply rice paper, paints, stencils and stamps, to create a background, then cut through the canvas to lift it up giving a 3d look.
I decided to have a go using a unicorn rice paper and a flower and butterfly rice paper.
Unfortunately it didnt quite go to plan and when I cut through the canvas the paint and rice paper started to lift and seperate from the canvas. The butterflies and wings on the unicorn looked ok, but the flowers looked dreadful, so I used some mulberry and foam flowers to disguise the messy canvas.
Here's the result...

I will have to have another watch of the videos to see where I went wrong and have another go.

Unicorn painting

Hi there crafty friends, today I'd like to share a painting I've just finished. I know its not a masterpiece, I'm just learning, but my Aunt asked me to paint a unicorn for her grandaughters bedroom and this is the first one.  I just love unicorns, so I'm going to paint a few and let her choose the one she likes the best. Her room is mainly blues and greys and she said she would like muted tones, so I think this should fit in.
I used paints from Indigblu, matte and metallic, with the addition of Slap it on to help blend the colours, on a 50cm x 40cm canvas.

Here's step by step pictures from start to finish

Thanks for looking, please feel free to comment any constructive criticism. I am self taught so always thankful for any painting tips and techniques.
